Chelsea vs Liverpool
Hosts struggled to establish any foothold in the game, while visitors quickly settled in. Mason Mount gave Chelsea the lead through an outstanding individual effort from their winger Mason Mount in the second half. Timo Werner had an opportunity to equalise but saw his shot deflect wide; Liverpool substitute Dominic Solanke also missed two potential chances during play.
Liverpool were given a lift by Luis Garcia’s goal, who nearly added another from outside of the box but was flagged offside. Mo Salah had another opportunity but saw his shot blocked by Cesar Azpilicueta before having another header ruled out for offside due to tight call from refereeing officials.

Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota scored as Liverpool ruthlessly dismantled Leeds United at Anfield, winning by 2-0 to remain safe from relegation. Javi Gracia’s side were far from impressive during this encounter and now face an uphill struggle just to remain Premier League.
Trent Alexander-Arnold used his arm to control the ball during a challenge with Cody Gakpo, yet neither the referee or VAR saw this act of aggressive play as warranting a penalty. Instead, the full-back excelled in his new hybrid midfield role by working seamlessly alongside Fabinho, Salah and Jota before setting him up for their goal.

Salah was at the centre of many of Liverpool’s bright attacking moments and completed his hat-trick after being set up by Jota with an expert finish. That goal brought his total goal tally for all competitions up to 26 – equalling Gordon Hodgson’s record set back in 1977/78.
